When writing speeches, candidates should choose their language carefully, be sure not to use any campaigning language, it will result in disqualification. You cannot ask for votes, or say phrases like,” I am the best candidate because…” etc. Think of your prepared speech as an opportunity to promote and publicize FCCLA and its many programs and opportunities more than an opportunity to promote and publicize yourself. Using first person language is not by itself considered campaigning.
The topic for your speech is shown " below" No props may be used. Notes are not considered props, and are allowed. Speech topic: TBA

Also, it is the candidate's responsibility to keep all social networking sites free of any information pertaining to elections.

Voting delegates will ask the candidates questions about their application as well as various situational and FCCLA fact questions.
- Following the Meet the Candidates session candidates will be presented, and elected, in the following order: State Officer Candidate, Regional President and Vice President, and Regional Officers.
- Each candidate will have individual time with all voting delegates to give a prepared speech and be asked a situational question.
- Voting will be done on paper ballots.
- If a candidate drops down to the next level of voting, they will not have to give their prepared speech again, but will need to come back out to answer the situational question for that level of office.
